“There is an opportunity for better data sharing from across asset owners and partners.  In the current environment, as we move through the asset lifecycle there can be significant information loss – data created for a specific use in one part of the asset lifecycle, like the planning phase, may not be passed efficiently to stakeholders in subsequent parts of the lifecycle, lacks standardization, and in some cases suffers from poor quality – limiting the value that the data can provide. The Ontario government is exploring the application and benefits of digital twins.  This technology could provide an additional tool to build infrastructure more quickly and cost-effectively.”
