WHY THIS EVENT MATTERS

2025 has been a pivotal year for Australia’s infrastructure sector. Digital transformation is no longer a future aspiration – it’s happening now. Major government agencies and delivery partners have embraced digital engineering, and procurement reform is accelerating through initiatives like the NSW Digital Engineering Framework and Queensland’s Beyond 2032 strategy.

Across the country, flagship projects have demonstrated the value of digital twins and data-centric delivery, reducing risk and improving outcomes. The Sydney Metro program and Western Sydney Airport precinct have set new benchmarks for integrated digital workflows, while energy and transport agencies are embedding lifecycle thinking into planning and asset management.

But, the challenges remain.

Cultural inertia, fragmented standards, and capability gaps continue to slow adoption. Many organizations are still grappling with scaling innovation beyond pilots and embedding digital practices into business-as-usual.

This Twin Talks edition will unpack these realities through a spirited debate:

  • Have we truly turned the corner on digital transformation?
  • What lessons from 2025 will shape the next wave of reform?
  • How do we sustain momentum into 2026 and beyond?

By bringing together leaders from government, industry, and technology, this event offers a unique opportunity to reflect on progress, challenge complacency, and chart a path forward for Australia’s infrastructure future.
