ACCELERATING DIGITAL TWIN ADOPTION

Technology presents an opportunity at every stage of infrastructure lifecycles enabling better designs, more efficient delivery, and reduced operating costs. Given the scale of infrastructure investment planned and underway across Canada and escalating costs, the need for productivity improvements is more acute than ever. The performance of the sector could be transformed by greater use of data and digital tools at every stage from planning, through to operations and maintenance of buildings.

Across Canada there are a growing number of examples of a shift towards digital planning, procurement, delivery, and maintenance of infrastructure. Ontario is moving forward with a pilot around digital twins, and there are a growing number of projects that are leveraging the technology. This discussion will look at global lessons around adoption and the way forward for Canada. This session takes place as part of a workshop with the Future of Infrastructure Group looking at Digital Twin Adoption in Canada.
