Twin Talks London: Scaling Capital for Sustainable Infrastructure

London Climate Action Week ‘26

OVERVIEW

Global infrastructure investment remains materially below what is required to deliver net‑zero transition, climate resilience and inclusive growth [1]. While capital availability is increasing, particularly from private markets, infrastructure continues to be structurally under‑allocated in institutional portfolios [2]. A central reason is persistent delivery and performance risk: too many projects fail to progress beyond feasibility or business‑case stages, and decision‑makers lack consistent, credible evidence on delivery certainty, operational performance and resilience. As physical climate risks intensify, these evidence gaps are becoming increasingly material to investment, lending and underwriting decisions [2].

Scaling sustainable infrastructure investment, therefore, depends on reducing uncertainty across the asset lifecycle, from project preparation and delivery through to long‑term performance and reporting. Improved use of asset data and digital capability can play a critical role by strengthening transparency, supporting assurance and enabling more confident capital allocation [3].

This Twin Talks session brings together leaders from across the UK’s financial and professional services ecosystem to explore how data‑driven approaches are being applied in practice, not as an operational add‑on, but as a decision‑making enabler that supports delivery confidence, underwriting assessment and long‑term asset value in sustainable infrastructure.

  • Gain a clearer view of how resilience evidence can reduce uncertainty, support insurability and improve confidence in long‑term returns.
